In my practice, my goal is to walk alongside you in times of discomfort and uncertainty so you don’t have to face them alone. My warm approach to the therapeutic process includes providing a space where you can discover, and sit with, your truest self in order to acknowledge and unpack some of the uncomfortable moments in your life. In this approach, we collaboratively explore and set goals for our time together, and work to create an environment where you can grow and flourish. I utilize a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and the Internal Family Systems Model to assist you in working towards the goals you have for yourself.
I have two Bachelor’s Degrees from the University of Waterloo in Social Development Studies and Social Work and am currently working toward my Master’s of Social Work degree at the University of Toronto. Over the past several years, I have had the privilege of supporting a diverse range of clients in various settings, assisting them in working through a multitude of challenges including varying mental health diagnoses, addiction, relational issues, and low self-esteem. I am honoured to be able to further my professional practice here at Beaches Therapy Group as a Social Work Intern. My services are offered at a reduced hourly rate and are supervised by a Registered Social Worker in the group practice.
Your decision to start therapy is a courageous one and I acknowledge the vulnerability it takes to open yourself up to be heard and seen by someone new. It is important that you feel connected to your clinician in order to do effective work. Let’s connect for your free initial consultation to get acquainted and talk more about what you’re looking to get out of psychotherapy, in order to ensure we would be a good therapeutic match. I’m looking forward to hearing from you.

Families change when parents separate, but parenting does not end. Parents are forever. Parenting during or after separation and divorce can feel like one of the most uncharted times in your life. Without support, it can become daunting and overwhelming.
If you are needing emotional support, coaching around co-parenting, insight into your child’s or ex-partner’s behaviour in their restructured family, or a safe place to vent and debrief through the family court process, I would be delighted to be part of your team of support. I provide coaching and skill-building in tackling frustrating communication patterns or conflict that persists despite all of your valiant efforts. I further provide consultation regarding parenting time schedules and parenting plans.
I also offer counselling to step-parents in their important role in blended families. Blended families are a rapidly growing group in our society and a step-parent’s role is unique to each family. Successful step-parenting requires strong role clarity, communication systems and self-care. These skills in turn help the family navigate common problems with acceptance, caring and mutual respect.
The decision to begin counselling/coaching is often the first step towards improved communication, self-acceptance and confidence. Together we can work on your goals in a focused way to find solutions that will benefit your family.
I believe in each person’s unique identity and, also our shared humanity. My approach is humanistic, client-centred, strength-based and child and solution-focused. I am a registered social worker and have a Psychology and Social Work Degree from Dalhousie University. I am originally from the East Coast of Canada with a friendly, down-to-earth and direct manner. I am trained in Parenting Coordination, Mediation and Custody Evaluations. I have worked with over 3000 parents and children in my 24 years of practice across 3 provinces.

I am a dedicated and compassionate therapist with a passion for helping others that began over 10 years ago, running Afterglow Yoga Studio in the Beaches, Toronto. As a business owner and instructor I have thrived on making connections with others and finding joy in witnessing growth and possibility.
After what feels like a lifetime of raising three children, and running a business I chose to return to school to train and become proficient in treating the many complexities of life such as anxiety, depression, trauma, stressful life events, parenting and relationship issues. I have worked with women and girls to help increase self-awareness and empower their own inner voices. In addition to my Master’s in Counselling Psychology, I have training and achieved certifications in healing trauma and addiction through EMDR, EFT, mindfulness based self-compassion, and somatic healing. Through my training, yoga practice, mindfulness education, and lived experience, I have cultivated a diverse skill set using various therapeutic modalities, including Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), EMDR and Somatic practices such as yoga, meditation and breath work.
First and foremost I believe in creating a safe, empathetic and non-judgmental environment where clients feel free to explore their thoughts and emotions. I aim to work collaboratively with clients to foster meaningful connections, empower personal growth, self-esteem and balanced mental health. I embrace each persons unique and diverse circumstances creating individual plans for goal setting, healing and success.
