Life is unpredictable, and can be difficult at times. Grief, trauma, depression, anxiety, etc. are often isolating experiences; but you don’t have to carry the weight of it all, alone. Therapy offers a guiding light, a safe space to connect with your authentic self, to recognize your inherent value and worth, and a pathway to deeper understanding. Feeling grounded in your sense of self also helps you to reconnect with others, to clarify what you really want out of life, and to reignite your sense of purpose and meaning. I can support you to process difficult emotions and experiences, and to discover your strengths and resilience. Insight is facilitated through an attachment lens, as exploring your inner world and healing past wounds increases self-efficacy, self-worth, creates a felt-sense of security, and can lead to profound changes.

My approach to therapy is warm, compassionate, strengths-based, down-to-earth, trauma-informed, relational, and integrative. I aim to build a strong therapeutic alliance, rooted in deep empathy, respect, and in creating genuine connections with clients, so that you feel comfortable opening up and truly feel seen, heard, and cared for. I draw on various types of evidence-based therapy, such as Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Somatic Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and more; in order to meet the unique needs of each client. Together, we can embark on a transformative journey towards healing and self-discovery.

I have a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Social Work with Honours from York University, and I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). I have ten years of professional experience and a true passion for this work. I’ve had the privilege of supporting clients with a wide range of presenting issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, grief, trauma, addiction, burnout, self-esteem, relational trauma, life transitions, and more; with my speciality being in trauma therapy. One of the most important factors in successful therapy is the quality of the relationship between the client and therapist. I invite you to book a free 15-minute session, which will give us a chance to get to know each other and to determine if we are indeed a good fit.

As a South Asian woman navigating life across cultures, my work is shaped by my clinical training as well as my lived experience. This has deepened my curiosity about identity, belonging, relationships, and the ways our personal and cultural histories shape how we experience life.

Many people reach out when they’re feeling weighed down by anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, burnout, or the pressure of holding everything together. Some are navigating life transitions, identity questions, or a sense of feeling stuck or disconnected. While things may look fine on the outside, internally there’s often a lot that feels difficult to name, especially under the busyness of everyday life.

I approach therapy with curiosity, care, and deep respect for the experiences you bring. In our conversations, we slow things down and create space to explore what has been difficult to hold on your own. At times, we may gently notice how emotions show up in the body. Our work together can be exploratory, making sense of patterns and past experiences, or more practical and tool-based, depending on what feels most helpful. We move between both at your pace.

The ways we cope and relate are often shaped by earlier experiences in our families and communities. Therapy can be a space to understand how these patterns show up in the present, and to build a more compassionate and authentic relationship with yourself.

My approach is relational and collaborative, informed by narrative therapy, attachment perspectives, trauma-informed care, and somatic awareness. I work in a way that is culturally responsive and affirming of diverse identities, including LGBTQIA2S+ communities. I hold a master’s degree in clinical psychology and have nearly a decade of experience across community, medical, and private practice settings in India and Canada. I offer therapy in English, Hindi, and Malayalam.

If you’re thinking about reaching out, I offer a free 15-minute consultation. It’s a space to share a bit about what’s bringing you here and get a sense of whether working together feels comfortable for you.

Hi, I’m Sarah!

Music has always been a passion of mine, so much so that I earned my master’s degree in Audio Production several years ago. I like to think my love for music has given me a great ear for listening, both to the quality of sound and to people. Outside of music, I cherish spending time with family and friends, going for jogs with my dog, reading, and cooking. I have to admit, I am a connoisseur of chips, and it’s one thing I can’t give up!

Every individual brings a unique story. I am genuinely interested in learning about your experiences, both the challenges and triumphs, that have shaped who you are. Your perspective and journey are important to me, and I strive to create a space where you feel truly seen and heard.

I recognize that sharing personal experiences can be difficult. My goal is to foster a therapeutic relationship built on trust, empathy, and a non-judgmental approach, ensuring you feel safe and supported throughout our work together. I am passionate about advocating for diversity, equity, and inclusion.

In my work as a developmental service worker, I have embraced a person-centred approach, empowering individuals to recognize their strengths and supporting them in achieving their goals. I celebrate each individual’s small victories and work collaboratively to build meaningful connections within their communities.

As a caregiver for a parent with dementia, I have firsthand insight into the complexities faced by those in the sandwich generation. This experience has sparked my interest in evidence-based modalities, including person-centred therapy, motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT). After completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, I plan to pursue advanced certification in Family and Couples Therapy.

If you are experiencing anxiety, depression, family relationship challenges, or burnout, I am here to listen with empathy, support your growth, and work collaboratively with you to identify and build upon your strengths. My approach is grounded in compassion, client-centred care, and a commitment to making support accessible.

There is so much competing for our attention these days, from work and personal commitments to social media and endless expectations. It can be hard to stay grounded while feeling constant pressure to be productive and keep moving forward. Over time, this focus on doing, achieving, and planning can leave us feeling weighed down and disconnected from ourselves.

I see therapy as a space to slow down to explore and understand what’s happening beneath the surface. It’s a space for you. A space to pause, breathe, reflect, and notice what you’ve been carrying. A space to reconnect with yourself and your own experience.

Using a blended approach in therapy, I integrate somatic and cognitive techniques to explore and process emotions and experiences at a pace that feels right for you. This approach allows us to work collaboratively, noticing thoughts, feelings, and body sensations, and supporting you in increasing awareness of your emotions and needs so you can respond in ways that feel more in tune with yourself.

I hold a Master of Social Work and am registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. My previous work as a registered massage therapist and yoga instructor shaped my understanding of the mind-body connection and how stress, emotions, and experiences can live in the body over time when we don’t have a chance to process them. With both personal and professional experiences informing my practice, I am passionate about supporting people through interpersonal challenges, complex family relationships, ADHD, trauma, anxiety, depression, and grief. My focus remains on creating a space that feels collaborative, while grounded in a trauma informed and client centered approach.

In recognizing that everyone’s preferences and needs for therapy are different, I invite you to schedule a free 15 minute consultation to see if this approach feels like a good fit. This call will give us the opportunity to get to know one another better, discuss your therapeutic goals, and provide you with an opportunity to ask any questions you might have. I am a dedicated and compassionate therapist with a passion for helping others that began over 10 years ago, running Afterglow Yoga Studio in the Beaches, Toronto. As a business owner and instructor I have thrived on making connections with others and finding joy in witnessing growth and possibility.

After what feels like a lifetime of raising three children, and running a business I chose to return to school to train and become proficient in treating the many complexities of life such as anxiety, depression, trauma, stressful life events, parenting and relationship issues. I have worked with women and girls to help increase self-awareness and empower their own inner voices. In addition to my Master’s in Counselling Psychology, I have training and achieved certifications in healing trauma and addiction through EMDR, EFT, mindfulness based self-compassion, and somatic healing. Through my training, yoga practice, mindfulness education, and lived experience, I have cultivated a diverse skill set using various therapeutic modalities, including Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), EMDR and Somatic practices such as yoga, meditation and breath work.

First and foremost I believe in creating a safe, empathetic and non-judgmental environment where clients feel free to explore their thoughts and emotions. I aim to work collaboratively with clients to foster meaningful connections, empower personal growth, self-esteem and balanced mental health. I embrace each persons unique and diverse circumstances creating individual plans for goal setting, healing and success.
